Dancing With the Stars Accused of Rigging for Ratings with Fake Love Stories and Feuds

Dancing With the Stars Under Fire: Allegations of a Staged Show Surface

Dancing With the Stars is facing growing accusations that the beloved competition is far from genuine, with claims that the show’s producers are orchestrating drama and rivalry among contestants. The latest wave of controversy was fueled by an insider who spoke to RadarOnline, stating that while the show is labeled a competition, it often seems like a theatrical production filled with juicy storylines.

Actor Antonio Sabato Jr., who competed on DWTS in 2014 alongside pro dancer Cheryl Burke, is one of the former contestants voicing concerns about the integrity of the judging process. In a recent appearance on Burke’s podcast titled “Sex, Lies and Spray Tans,” Sabato Jr. asserted that the competition is indeed rigged, emphasizing that only those with extensive dance experience are likely to win.

He is not alone in feeling this way. Kyle Massey, who participated in season 11 of the show, made serious allegations regarding the fairness of the competition. During his season, he noted a significant incident where one contestant faltered mid-performance, but this misstep was curiously omitted from the delayed airing for the West Coast audience, allowing the dancer to secure top scores afterward.

In an ironic twist, the 2023 season saw teenage actress Xochitl Gomez take home the coveted Mirror Ball trophy. However, the show faced scrutiny when her fellow finalist, former Bachelorette Charity Lawson, was penalized by judge Carrie Ann Inaba for an undisclosed error during her routine. Viewers were left bewildered when they observed Gomez miss a critical move yet receive high marks for her performance.

Critics have also suggested that the scoring process heavily favors certain contestants, raising suspicions over how decisions are made. Fans of the show expressed their frustrations online, arguing that professional dancers shouldn’t compete against amateurs given the unfair advantage they possess.

As these allegations gain traction, it appears that the supposed behind-the-scenes machinations of Dancing With the Stars are becoming one of Hollywood’s worst-kept secrets. Insiders claim that many within the industry have long suspected that producers and judges alike have a predetermined idea of who will emerge victorious, well before the competition even begins.

The apparent staging of events may continue as long as the viewership remains strong, with insiders suggesting that the show’s ratings overshadow concerns of authenticity. As the drama unfolds, one has to wonder: how much of what we see is truly competitive, and how much is scripted for the sake of entertainment?
