Dominick Cruz Aims for Final Fight in Early 2025

Dominick Cruz is gearing up for an exciting return to the Octagon, planning to fight one last time in early 2025. The former UFC bantamweight champion, now 39, shared his aspirations during a recent conversation, expressing his desire to have a “last dance” in the sport he loves. Currently training at the UFC Performance Institute in Mexico City, Cruz is focused on preparing himself for an impending matchup.

“I believe I have one more fight left in me,” Cruz stated enthusiastically. “I want to go out there and truly enjoy the experience. By ‘fun,’ I mean battling until the very end and discovering just how much I have left to give.” This upcoming fight would be his first since losing to Marlon Vera by knockout in 2022.

Cruz had initially hoped to compete this year but acknowledged that settling on a suitable matchup has proven challenging. He commented on the state of the bantamweight division, noting, “There are some impressive fighters out there; the entire division is highly competitive.” With a remarkable career record of 24 wins and 4 losses, including victories over legends like Urijah Faber, T.J. Dillashaw, and Demetrious Johnson, Cruz is eager to notch one more victory before stepping away for good.

As fans eagerly await his next move, Cruz remains optimistic about what the future holds as he eyes a triumphant return to the fight scene in early 2025.
