Dr. Punam Krishan and Gorka Marquez eliminated from competition

In a surprising turn of events on Strictly Come Dancing, Dr Punam Krishan and her partner Gorka Marquez have been eliminated from the competition. The results, announced during the show on October 27, revealed that Punam and Gorka faced off against Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu in a tense dance-off.

During the results show, Punam and Gorka performed an impressive Tango to the iconic track Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics, while Shayne and Nancy showcased their Paso Doble to In The Hall of The Mountain King by Edvard Grieg. After both couples had their second chance to impress the judges, the verdicts came in. Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse both opted to save Shayne and Nancy, a sentiment echoed by Anton Du Beke and head judge Shirley Ballas. The decision meant that Punam and Gorka were sent home, much to the disappointment of fans.

Reflecting on their journey, Punam expressed pride in herself, emphasizing how transforming her comfort zone into a space of growth was a key takeaway. She remarked on the importance of continual learning, grateful for the experiences and support she received from Gorka throughout the competition. She noted, “I’ve learned more than just dancing; I’ve gained invaluable life lessons.”

Gorka, paying tribute to Punam, highlighted her remarkable progress over the weeks. “She’s a GP and a mom who had never danced before. Watching her improve week by week has been a testament to her dedication and hard work,” he stated. He also felt honored to have represented her culture through their performances, particularly recalling their Bollywood dance.

Fans were understandably upset by the elimination. Many took to social media to express their thoughts, with some indicating that while they were saddened by Gorka’s exit, they believed the results were justified. One fan stated, “Gutted Gorka has left but it was the correct result! Next week Shayne,” while another remarked, “Right person gone! Don’t understand why Shayne was in the dance-off again. He is improving and better than some of the others.”

As the competition progresses, viewers will undoubtedly keep a close eye on the remaining contestants. Strictly Come Dancing will continue next Saturday, November 2, at 6:30 PM on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Fans are already questioning who might be next to leave the dance floor and what surprises lie ahead in the exciting seasons.
