Kaley Cuoco recently expressed her enthusiasm for potentially reviving her beloved character Penny from the iconic series The Big Bang Theory. In an interview featured in People, the actress opened up about the profound impact the role had on her life and career.

Cuoco, now 38, fondly reflected on her twelve-year journey with the hit CBS show, which aired from September 2007 to May 2019. “Playing Penny was a major turning point for me,” she shared. “The experience was truly transformative, and I am immensely grateful to Chuck Lorre and everyone involved with the show. Those were some of the happiest years of my life.”

When asked if she would consider stepping back into Penny’s shoes, Cuoco offered an enthusiastic response. “Absolutely, I would reprise that role,” she affirmed. “Without a doubt. I cherish that character deeply and always will.”

Throughout its 12-season run, The Big Bang Theory captivated audiences as it chronicled the lives of a group of socially awkward scientists and their romantic endeavors, earning ten Emmy awards along the way. Cuoco starred alongside notable actors including Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Mayim Bialik, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar. The show’s success paved the way for a prequel series, Young Sheldon, which originated from Parsons’ character, Sheldon Cooper, and has since expanded with its own spinoff.

Beyond her role in the sitcom, Cuoco is currently starring in the Peacock series Based on a True Story and is celebrating personal milestones, including her engagement to Tom Pelphrey. The couple recently welcomed their daughter Matilda, born in March 2023, and shared their joy through an Instagram announcement.

As Cuoco navigates through her flourishing career and family life, including plans for future children, she looks forward to any opportunity to connect with fans once again through Penny’s character. “Life is hectic with my one-year-old and several dogs,” Cuoco said, “but we plan to keep going in our own unique order.”

Kaley Cuoco’s affection for Penny remains evident, and her willingness to return to the role reflects a beautiful bond with the character she so vividly brought to life on screen.
