Meghan Markle Takes on a New Role as a Culinary Star with Netflix Series
In a surprising shift in her career trajectory, Meghan Markle has officially transitioned into the realm of culinary entertainment. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, unveiled her latest project—a cooking show set to stream on Netflix—via a trailer shared on her Instagram just a day after its initial teaser.
The show, titled “With Love, Meghan,” showcases Markle in her picturesque Montecito kitchen, blending her love for cooking with glimpses of her garden and even her beehive. The trailer features her harvesting fresh produce from her garden, preparing delightful dishes, and engaging in lively conversations with celebrity friends like Mindy Kaling, all set to the catchy tune of The Lovin’ Spoonful’s classic “Do You Believe in Magic.”
In her Instagram post accompanying the trailer, Markle expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it. Wishing you all a fantastic new year!” Her message radiated gratitude towards her team and the support she received throughout the filming process.
Mindy Kaling, one of the show’s inaugural guests, shares her experience of being treated to Markle’s homemade Victoria Sponge, labeling it as one of the most glamorous moments of her life.
According to the official synopsis from Netflix, the series will encompass “some of her favorite tips and tricks for cooking, gardening, crafting, and more,” emphasizing that even the smallest gestures can add beauty to our lives while fostering connections with others. “Whether it’s preparing thoughtful gifts for guests or garnishing breakfast with edible flowers, it’s truly the thought that counts,” the synopsis notes.
The trailer highlights Markle’s reflections on forming new friendships and acquiring skills like beekeeping. She states, “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it, surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them.” Markle emphasizes the importance of connecting with loved ones, declaring, “We’re not in the pursuit of perfection; we’re in the pursuit of joy.”
The show promises to invite both old and new friends into the kitchen and garden, where they can share candid conversations and practical advice. Among those making appearances alongside Kaling will be Prince Harry, renowned chefs Roy Choi and Alice Waters, and Markle’s longstanding friends from her past, including Abigail Spencer from “Suits” and Delfina Blaquier, the wife of polo player Nacho Figueras.
Markle’s makeup artist and close confidante, Daniel Martin, will also be featured in the series, further solidifying her commitment to showcasing her personal connections.
With this exciting new endeavor, Markle is proving that she isn’t just stepping back into the spotlight but is eager to share her culinary passions and experiences with a global audience.
