Pete Wicks Raises Concerns Ahead of Icons Week Performance with Jowita Pryzstal

Pete Wicks Sets Off ‘Concerns’ for Jowita Pryzstal Ahead of Strictly Icons Week

As the excitement builds for this Saturday’s live show on Strictly Come Dancing, partner Jowita Pryzstal has expressed some ‘worries’ regarding Pete Wicks and their upcoming performance. During a segment on the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, host Janette Manrara chatted with the duo about their preparations for Icons Week, revealing that things might not be going as smoothly as hoped.

Pete will be tackling the salsa this weekend, a style he’s clearly passionate about, yet Jowita hinted at her apprehensions surrounding their routine that pays homage to a medley of Queen hits. Discussing their recent Halloween Week Viennese waltz, where Pete made quite an impression dressed as The Joker, he shared his mixed feelings about the dance styles. “I think I like ballroom… not that I fully understand it, but it feels right,” he pondered.

Janette probed Jowita about what makes ballroom dance resonate with Pete, to which she praised him as a true gentleman who embraces the traditional elements of the dance. “He loves to maintain that connection, and he enjoys the controlled nature of ballroom compared to the more liberated style of Latin,” she explained. Pete, known for his humor, jokingly admitted to being a bit of a control freak himself.

As the conversation shifted to their upcoming salsa, Jowita acknowledged Pete’s performance skills that remind her of the legendary Freddie Mercury. “He lights up those Saturday nights with his energy, so I’m not exactly worried about his performance,” she stated, although her next comment indicated otherwise. When pressed about what was on her mind, she quickly shifted gears, downplaying any fears.

However, Pete was more candid about his nerves. “Yes, I should be worried about the lifts,” he confessed. He elaborated, “We’re not just doing the salsa; it’s more like Cirque du Salsa. Jowita might think I’m some kind of gymnast, but that’s far from the truth. There’s definitely some wild choreography in store.”

Creating a playful tension, he acknowledged Jowita’s reputation for ambitious routines and emphasized his own limitations when it comes to athleticism.

With the pressure mounting for this weekend’s performance, fans are left wondering how the pair will handle the challenging embrace of the limelight. Keep an eye on Jowita and Pete as they attempt to charm the judges and audience alike with their unique blend of dance, character, and undeniable chemistry.
