Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Find Themselves in Surrogacy Controversy as Questions Arise Over Son’s Birth
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are at the center of a surprising surrogacy controversy, with sources suggesting that doubts surrounding the birth of their son, Archie, are intensifying. This turmoil is reportedly fueled by the Duchess’s estranged father, who is raising suspicions about the legitimacy of their child’s birth. As speculation mounts, Buckingham Palace is reportedly facing increased pressure to reevaluate the royal status of Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, until Meghan can provide definitive proof that she gave birth to them.
A palace insider shared, “This situation is not unexpected. There has been ongoing speculation regarding the children for years. Their positions are critical in the line of succession, yet they have been shrouded in secrecy since birth. There are countless questions that need to be addressed. Until we have undeniable evidence, this crisis will persist.”
Royal author Lady Colin Campbell has publicly challenged the silence surrounding the births. Campbell stated, “The entire situation reeks of deceit. Meghan has fostered an environment that leads people to believe the children were borne through surrogacy. It’s time to clarify everything. There should be transparency regarding who is in the line of succession.”
Adding to the drama, Meghan’s estranged half-sister and father, Samantha Markle and Thomas Markle, have further stoked the fires of doubt. Samantha recently expressed to journalist Dan Wootton, “If they used a surrogate, just admit it.” She recounted her father’s claims prior to Archie’s birth that Meghan had retrieved her frozen eggs, leading her to suspect a surrogate might have been employed. Samantha questioned, “Why the secrecy? Instead of misleading the public, why not just say, ‘We are using a surrogate’? But doing so would strip the child of his place in the succession since an heir must be born from a royal mother.”
Critics have raised eyebrows over the circumstances surrounding Archie’s birth. Archie’s official birth date is recorded as May 6, 2019. He made his birth announcement from Portland Hospital, located just 20 miles from the Sussexes’ home at Frogmore Cottage. Initially, Meghan was expected to have a home birth, which raised further questions about the timing and logistics surrounding the event.
Adding to the controversy, Harry revealed in his memoir that they returned home within two hours after Archie was born. One palace source remarked, “How often do we hear of a woman giving birth and being home just two hours later? It raises some serious concerns about whether Meghan was the one who gave birth.”
In stark contrast, Harry’s brother Prince William and his wife, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, organized photo opportunities shortly after the birth of each of their three children. The Sussexes, however, took over two days to present Archie to the world, and he appeared heavily swaddled, revealing only his forehead.
Meghan’s birth certificate was also updated 11 days post-delivery to include her formal title as Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Sussex. Lilibet, their second child, was born on June 4, 2021, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital after Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties and relocated to their lavish mansion in Montecito.
Lady Colin Campbell has since called for a palace inquiry to establish “irrefutable proof” that Meghan gave birth to both children. Sources reveal that Meghan is likely incensed by the situation, expressing frustration over Lady Campbell’s statements and placing blame on Harry for not safeguarding their privacy more effectively. A palace insider noted, “This scandal could strain their marriage to its breaking point. It’s already very fragile.”
Ultimately, the source added, “Lady C is set on uncovering the truth. Meghan’s ordeal will not fade away until she fully addresses the situation.”
