Reba McEntire is celebrating the holiday season in style alongside her longtime boyfriend, Rex Linn. After four years together, the couple has established a series of unique Christmas traditions that they cherish. “Rex and I will go see a movie. We celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, and since he loves going to the cinema, we’ll do that first thing before the theaters get crowded,” Reba, 69, disclosed to E! News. She added, “You might have noticed I mentioned ‘meals’—we indulge in lunch, dinner, and likely a midnight snack. That’s how we do it,” she laughed.

This year, the couple is eagerly anticipating seeing “The Fire Inside,” a film featuring Ryan Destiny as Claressa “T-Rex” Shields, America’s first female Olympic boxing gold medalist, with Oscar nominee Brian Tyree Henry portraying her coach. The movie is set to premiere on December 25, making it perfect for their Christmas morning outing.

Reba and Rex’s story began back in 1991 when they starred together in “The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw.” At that time, Reba was still married to her manager and former steel guitar player, Narvel Blackstock. After their divorce in 2015, their friendship blossomed into romance. Reba excitedly shared during an October 2020 podcast episode that she was “dating a sweetheart of a guy,” confirming her relationship with Rex.

Reba’s admiration for her partner is evident. “He appreciates my music, and I’m genuinely interested in his career. It’s refreshing to converse with someone who is not just funny and smart, but who also finds me intriguing,” she said. They currently star together in her NBC sitcom, “Happy’s Place,” which has seamlessly blended both their professional and personal lives. “We’re used to working together and being together as partners, buddies, and lovers,” she remarked.

Addressing concerns about maintaining their relationship amidst their busy schedules, a source revealed that Reba, being an executive producer of “Happy’s Place,” decided to cast Rex. “This way, he’ll be there with her during long working hours,” the insider shared. Since Reba has been married twice before, she previously didn’t envision marriage again. However, Rex has been a remarkable presence in her life, leading her to reconsider, hoping to ensure their personal lives aren’t overshadowed by their careers.
