Christopher Biggins, the beloved I’m A Celebrity winner from 2007, has spoken out about his earnings from the show, criticizing ITV for their extravagant compensation packages. Recently, reports surfaced stating that Coleen Rooney was set to receive a staggering £1.5 million to join the reality competition, prompting Biggins to reflect on the evolving landscape of contestant salaries.

During an interview with The Sun, Biggins expressed his disbelief over the rising fees, labeling the sums “ludicrous.” He cited Nigel Farage’s £1 million payment from last year as a prime example of the outrageous financial incentives now offered to contestants. Biggins remarked, “If they want these people and those people say no, they have to offer the money they demand. It’s probably ITV’s biggest show, so they have deep pockets to fund it.”

As for his own experience, Biggins disclosed, “When I did it, I received £50,000. While it’s still a decent amount, I went on to earn significantly more in the following year. So that has been a major benefit for me. I continue to reap the rewards from my participation years later.”

The versatile entertainer, who shared the camp with notable personalities like Janice Dickinson, Gemma Atkinson, and Katie Hopkins, revealed that he declined the chance to participate in the previous all-stars edition of the show.

In another related development, Linda Robson recently hinted that her fellow Loose Women panelist, Jane Moore, might be heading into the jungle this season. During an interview at the London Lifestyle Awards, Robson confidently predicted, “Jane will be Queen of the Jungle. She’ll tackle every challenge without hesitation. I’m sure she will win.”

Fans can catch the latest season of I’m A Celebrity, which is scheduled to premiere on November 17 at 9 pm on ITV1 and ITVX, featuring even more unexpected twists and celebrity drama.
