Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu Exit Strictly, Sparking Viewer Outrage

Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu are the latest contestants to depart from Strictly Come Dancing, leaving fans incensed. In the dance-off held on November 10, they faced off against Wynne Evans and Katya Jones. Following a split decision among the judges, head judge Shirley Ballas ultimately chose to save Wynne and Katya.

During the dance-off, both couples reprised their routines. Shayne and Nancy performed a rumba to Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time,” while Wynne and Katya showcased their American Smooth set to MIKA’s “Grace Kelly.” After both performances, the judges cast their votes. Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse opted to save Shayne and Nancy, but Anton Du Beke chose to advance Wynne and Katya. With Shirley Ballas having the deciding vote, she chose to send Shayne and Nancy home.

After their exit, Shayne expressed his gratitude for the experience, saying, “You guys up there in the Clauditorium are a dream. Every day coming here helped me so much. Thank you to the audience for always being amazing for us all. This has been one of the best things I’ve ever done.” He reflected on his journey and praised Nancy for her support, stating, “I’m proud that I made it to eight weeks as a novice dancer. A massive thank you goes to this incredible human right next to me [Nancy].”

Nancy also shared her pride in their partnership, commending Shayne for his significant growth as a dancer. “Every second you put your feet on the dancefloor, you improved yourself. I feel proud because I’ve turned someone who has never danced into an amazing dancer.”

Viewers took to social media to voice their opinions on the elimination. Some expressed disbelief, arguing that Shayne was a superior dancer compared to Wynne, while others called for a viewer vote rather than a judge’s decision. Despite the controversy, some fans supported the judges’ choice.

As the season continues, fans will be closely watching for more updates and drama from Strictly Come Dancing.
