Alyssa Farah Griffin Discusses Her IVF Journey at 35

Alyssa Farah Griffin, known for her role on The View, has courageously shared her personal experience with in vitro fertilization (IVF) at the age of 35. During a recent episode of The View: Behind the Table podcast, she opened up about the challenges of trying to conceive. “I’m currently undergoing IVF,” she revealed, explaining that she and her husband, Justin Griffin, have been attempting to get pregnant for about a year and a half. After struggling to conceive naturally, they opted for IVF, entering into what is now her second treatment cycle.

On the following episode, Alyssa expressed that she would be absent from the “Hot Topics” discussion to attend a doctor’s appointment related to her IVF journey. Although she had yet to speak about her struggles on the main show, she chose the podcast platform to provide insight into her situation.

Reflecting on her experiences, Alyssa admitted, “I had no idea how challenging this would be at my age.” She had always assumed that as a healthy individual who exercises and maintains a balanced diet, the process would be relatively easy. However, her body did not respond as she had anticipated.

During a hectic Election Night, she recalled managing IVF injections in between her live appearances, highlighting the emotional toll that accompanies this journey. While the initial IVF cycle was manageable, she described the second cycle as more taxing, stating, “I’ve been a wreck. I’m feeling fatigued and emotional, and it’s uncomfortable.”

By being open about her IVF journey, Alyssa hopes to extend a sense of solidarity to other women facing similar struggles. “I want to convey to those experiencing difficulties that there is hope and to stay engaged in the process,” she explained. Though she is careful about the extent of her sharing, her message aims to normalize the conversation around fertility challenges.

She has expressed her gratitude to her colleagues, including Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin, for their unwavering support throughout this difficult time. With humor, she noted, “If I happen to break down on air, you’ll understand why!”

As she navigates this path toward motherhood, Alyssa remains hopeful and emphasizes that she will continue to keep her audience informed about her journey. The ongoing conversation about health, motherhood, and the emotional aspects of IVF underscores the importance of support and awareness in these shared experiences.
