Golden Bachelorette’s Pascal Apologizes for ‘Stalker’ Comment About Chock

Pascal Ibgui, a contestant from the reality series Golden Bachelorette, is addressing controversy after his remarks about fellow castmate Chock Chapple. Following his exit from the show on the October 30 episode, Pascal referred to Chock as a “stalker” during a Glamour interview, sparking backlash from fans and viewers alike.

In a heartfelt Instagram video posted on November 10, Pascal, 69, expressed his gratitude to Bachelor Nation for including him in the inaugural season of the Golden Bachelorette. “I wanted to thank Bachelor Nation. This has been an incredible experience, meeting remarkable gentlemen along the way,” he stated. However, he quickly shifted focus to offer an apology to Chock, 60. “Calling him a stalker was inappropriate and uncalled for. Chock, please accept my sincere apology.”

The rivalry between Pascal and Chock has been evident throughout their time on the show, where both men were considered strong contenders for the affection of lead contestant Joan Vassos. Chock’s assertive approach towards Joan during a recent group date raised eyebrows among the other contestants. According to Pascal’s interview, Chock was overly expressive of his feelings towards Joan, leading to his derogatory comparison.

In his Glamour interview, Pascal described Chock’s behavior in more detail, stating, “Chock was all over her to the point where he was like a stalker. It felt excessive, with comments about love and wanting to be together that seemed out of place.” This characterization did not sit well with fans, prompting Pascal to reconsider and retract his words.

As Pascal gears up to watch the season finale on November 13, he also offered well wishes to both Chock and fellow competitor Guy Gansert. “Again, I appreciate Bachelor Nation for the wonderful time we shared. I will always be a part of this community and cherish every moment.”

During his time on the Golden Bachelorette, Pascal and Joan participated in a meaningful Tahitian bonding ceremony. However, he chose to leave after realizing his feelings for Joan were not as strong as hers, feeling the need to end things before becoming more emotionally invested.

Despite his departure from the show, Pascal expressed interest in potentially being the next Golden Bachelor, albeit with a caveat: he hopes for a younger age range for contestants. “While I may be older, I’m not looking to date a woman who is 72,” he quipped, emphasizing the need for age adjustments in future seasons.

As the Golden Bachelorette season finale approaches, fans can expect to see how the relationships unfold and whether Chock’s bold approach wins over Joan in the end.
