Phil Robertson, known from the hit reality series Duck Dynasty, has recently been diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimer’s Disease, as shared by his son Jase Robertson during a podcast episode on December 6. The news has come as a shock to the family and fans alike, as Phil, now 78, has been struggling with his health.
During the podcast, titled Unashamed with the Robertson Family, Jase revealed that doctors suspect Phil may be suffering from a blood disease that is contributing to his various health issues. He articulated the emotional and physical toll the diagnosis has had on his father, stating, “He’s just not doing well. He’s really struggling.”
Jase further explained that Phil’s ongoing health challenges have prevented him from participating in the podcast, despite his eagerness to return. He noted, “He keeps saying, ‘I’m gonna get back to the podcast.’ But I’m like, ‘Well Phil, you can barely walk around without crying out in pain, and your memory is not what it once was.’”
Phil Robertson rose to fame with his family through Duck Dynasty, a reality show that provided an entertaining look into their lives as Louisiana duck hunters. The series dominated television ratings from its debut in March 2012 until its conclusion in March 2017.
